Black Moms Adopt is a blog about a black family along their adoption journey. The hope is to encourage black moms and families to adopt from foster care in the US.

About Bea Hopewell

I am writing this blog to encourage black women and families in their adoption journey.  As a black single, older mother, I want to build the community of families who love and raise black children.  I hope to honor the memories of my own mother and father and other caregivers who have gone on before us.  I celebrate the sisters, godmothers, other mothers, aunties, uncles, friends, the ladies at church and people on the bus, the supermarket, and in our lives who help me see that there are many ways to nurture. I honor the children who also love and care for us in their own ways.

Read this blog if you are thinking about adoption or already have adopted through child welfare. Keep in mind if you have seen one adoptive family, you have seen one adoptive family. You will have your own story. From this story, take the best, leave the rest.

With Love,

Bea
